  1. This website should be somehow integrated into the student portal.

As a student, I am much more likely to visit this website if the important sections are integrated into the student portal as that is something that I would check everyday. A standalone website like this has the possibility of being neglected by many students.

    • making timetable more convenient to use

Other universities, e.g. the University of Auckland in New Zealand, have personal timetable for each student for each week with prac/lab class appearing in the timetable only when the student has prac/lab in that week.

Right now in Unimelb, student need to check PDF documents on LMS about when and where they have prac/lab classes, which leads to repetitive checking and feeling scared that they might forget prac/lab class or have mistakenly read the wrong line in the document. By having a timetable that automatically show prac/lab class only when the students have one can really reduce our stress and…

      • Provide the Award application platform, particularly the leadership and communities award

I personally know that the Leadership and Communities Award is under the "career online website", but it doesn't help for the majority of the students, particularly for international students. Besides that under the Leadership and Communities Award should also provide the relevant volunteering opportunities for the students. With the link to the major website such as the ASU (Academic Skill Units), Career Online, and some other student communities such as UMSU International International Student Ambassador Program, Peer Support Program Under Advocacy and Legal Services. This tiny improvement can actually increase the Awareness of this award, and encourage student to be…

        • Adding key dates to Google Calendar on your smart devices

How about making a format for days and times of any event on any unimelb page and being able to have a hyperlink to those events which you can click on that'll automatically add those days and times to your Google or Samsung Calendar on your smart phone, Google/Samsung account, Mackbook and iPad

          • Allowing students to choose what notifications they receive based on their interests and subjects.

This could be related to exam dates, clubs or societies, public speaking. I no longer check notices because I am bombarded with them, but if I sit there and sift through them I often find really interesting opportunities that link to what I am interested in. If there was a way to filter this incoming information, it would benefit the student and the organisations seeking attendees.

            • Allow tags to be added for notifications for easier filtering

When creating a notice, allow the creator to add a tag out of a list, like "science" "paid" "clubs & societies" "seminars". Each could have their own sub list. Students can opt to filter by a tag or combination of tags, thereby not having to filter through notices about vegan bakesales for yoga awareness when they wish only to see items about paid studies and academic skill seminars (or vica versa). It would likely cause more people to read their notifications.

              • LMS results available on portal throughout the year

It would great if on the results tab on the portal that subject results throughout the semester could be uploaded and tracked, rather than just at the end of semester.

                • Change of staff

Last thing Australians need is some bloody Korean with little understanding of Australia sitting in a university on our taxpayer funds and giving tv appearances to patronise our generosity in allowing her to be here and attempting to tell Australians what is right for us in our country. I'll tell ms song what's not right and that is overpopulating Australia with hordes of People from countries in Asia who have grown beyond their sustainable population levels.

                    • Can not change my permanent address

I typed the same address as what is shown in my Chinese identification but unfortunately the Chinese letters can not be browsed correctly, instead the letters are all shown as a question mark. I want to ask what I can do to rewrite my information in English? Or should I register a new account? Thanks a lot for your kind reply!

                        Hi!
This seems to be the only way i can currently put in a question re communication today, so i'm going to try this! :) For the last 3 days, whether I am using Google Chrome, Internet Explorer or Safari as my browser, I have been unable to get onto MY.UNIMELB, or in fact on to Stop 1 or ASK.UNIMELB - all come up with a message screen that begins with, 'This site can't be reached.' I have an intensive holiday subject starting tomorrow and I needed to get onto my emails and the LMS to check announcements re the…

it is impossible to defer my offer. I created a password to enrol in Nov 16 and have no idea of the password I can't defer my place because it requires a log on. I can't get passed the long on screen because password does not match but MU doesn't have a forgotten password link like every other website log on. VERY FRUSTRATING. 1 Stop wont help me with this I have tried

                            • Better and easier to find graduate student information

It is very difficult to find information regarding offer acceptance, enrolment, and commencement dates for anything other than undergraduate courses on the ask.unimelb and my.unimelb site. Perhaps a whole section dedicated to new students commencing graduate studies would be useful.

                                  • follow a narrative process for enrolling and registering in classes

The information is scattered. It is also confusing as there is often too much extraneous information in each section.
The user has to scrounge around and follow too many irrelevant links to get just one aspect of the required information and then repeat the whole messy process all over again to find another detail.
If the process was kept simple and followed a stream with an outcome of a far better timetable screen than currently it may work and actually alleviate confusion. At present it is difficult to enrol and then know where and when to attend the first lectures…

                                      Hi Chris,

If you haven’t already checked it out, you might find our Get Started website helpful, which steps you through the process of starting at uni as a new student: http://students.unimelb.edu.au/get-started

Warm wishes for the upcoming Semester!

                                    • Add transport rule, signal meaning in the page

For the new International student, it will become more helpful if there has site for regular life event like transport rule i.e. Myki card using rule, road signal meaning etc.

                                      • mobile(via app)/ desktop notifications for event notifications

All events need to be categorized using tags like ("science", "lunch"," paid", "clubs & societies" so and so as mentioned in a previous post). Student should be able to get mobile/desktop notifications for any tag combinations subscribed by them.

                                        • Like new notices and new emails, new exam results should be notified.

It will be also useful if we could get an email upon updating our final exam results.
                                          Thank you
